Version History
Every change in every release, newest first. Katalog updates itself — this is the record of what it brought.
0.9.1build 54325 August 2026Latest
13 changes
- License keys: KTLG-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX, entered from Katalog > Enter License Key
- Buying a license now delivers the key by email automatically, within seconds
- Activation checks in with musickatalog.com once, then works offline forever
- Damaged files appear in the sidebar as the scan finds them, not at the end
- The damage scan can be stopped, and resumes where it left off — nothing is lost
- Condition per track: Damaged, Fixed, Replaced or Not Damaged, with a sortable column
- The Damaged list shows only what is still outstanding, so it shrinks as you work through it
- Check Files for Damage and Repair Damaged Files added to Tools
- Repairing writes a new file beside the original — your file is never touched
- Locations says plainly that Katalog only reads from those folders, and never copies
- The Locations button reads “Read N files where they are”, not “Add N to Library”
- Version history at musickatalog.com/version-history.html, in the site's own design
- Proper error pages instead of the host's defaults
0.9.0build 53324 August 2026
13 changes
- Version numbers: the app is 0.9.0, not “0.1 (533)” — build stays as the counter underneath
- Release notes are generated from one source, so every release lists everything in it
- Damaged category switched on for existing libraries — it shipped invisible
- Condition field per track: Damaged, Fixed, Replaced, Not Damaged
- Condition column, sortable, off by default
- Mark As on the track right-click menu
- Damaged list shows only what is still outstanding, so it shrinks as you work
- Check Files for Damage added to Tools
- Repair Damaged Files added to Tools
- Locations: “Katalog reads from these folders. It never moves, copies or changes anything” now the first line
- Locations: the blue button reads “Read N files where they are”, not “Add N to Library”
- Locations: the section called “Importing” renamed — nothing on that page imports
- Release notes travel inside the update as well as on the web page
0.8.3build 53024 August 2026
11 changes
- Damaged: scans for clicks and dropouts, with timestamps
- Repair: interpolates clicks, bridges short dropouts, writes a new file beside the original
- Clipping no longer counted as damage — it flagged 17 of 60 random tracks, which is the loudness war
- Dropouts only flagged between 10 and 250 ms — 734 ms of silence was a producer stopping the beat
- Deleting a playlist deletes the playlist — it was deleting the TRACKS out of your library
- An empty playlist could not be deleted at all, from the same bug
- Smart playlists: Edit Rules and Rename are separate items; Edit used to mean rename
- Cmd-V pastes artwork — nothing was listening for the keystroke
- Colour cell is clickable, including an empty one
- Column menu lists Loved and Color Label by name, not as ♡ and ●
- Check for Updates and Support Katalog moved to the Katalog menu, under About
0.8.2build 52424 August 2026
2 changes
- Check for Updates moved out of Help into the Katalog menu
- Release notes readable in dark mode — they were near-black on a dark panel
0.8.1build 52324 August 2026
4 changes
- Releases verify the disk image before submitting it to Apple
- Stale disk mounts detached first — a leaked mount looked exactly like a corrupt file
- Notarisation has a timeout, so a wedged submission fails instead of hanging
- Publishing checks every URL the feed names, and the version the page claims
0.8.0build 52123 August 2026
14 changes
- Loops are seamless — repeat was rebuilding the player from the file every pass, 160 ms of silence at the seam
- MP3 encoder padding trimmed, so an MP3 loops as cleanly as a WAV
- A/B loop points use the same sample-accurate path
- Pitch fader, ±16%, in the FX window and Prep’s playback settings
- Key Lock: tempo moves and the key stays, or both move like a turntable
- Pitch is the base rate — half-speed, bend and fast-forward multiply it instead of cancelling it
- Reverse play, latched, in the FX window and Prep
- Reset button and double-click to centre the pitch fader
- Panic clears reverse and pitch, not just the effects
- Playlist folders import from Music — folders were ignored entirely, 104 playlists went flat
- Playlists keep Music’s own order instead of being alphabetised
- Crash when dragging a playlist, and the crash-on-launch it left behind
- Undo removes a cue — it always deleted it, the waveform kept drawing from a stale cache
- Labels stopped being clipped in Prep’s playback settings
0.7.0build 51623 August 2026
2 changes
- Katalog updates itself: a notice with what changed, and one click installs it
- Updates are signed twice over — the feed entry and the app’s Developer ID
